My Story
Beginnings
My passion for childbirth began during my labor and delivery rotation in nursing school 13 years ago. I learned about the inner workings of the body during pregnancy and physiologic birth as well as the maternal health care system. Grounded in faith, I was in awe of the miraculous process of conception and birth, and how the body, by its own nature, knew exactly what to do. It was also fascinating to see how labor & delivery care has evolved throughout the years, through medical advancements and technology. I've been in awe at society's capability and brilliance to meet the demands of the complexity of birth and have access to life-saving practices.
I loved knowing the tools that were available, both internal (my body) and external (the healthcare system) to create ideal birth experiences. Meanwhile, as a nurse, I was constantly seeing the decline in the connection of bodily awareness and education in patients. At the same time, I was also witnessing the increase in fear-based and liability focus in healthcare. This has led me to believe that there is a desperate need for reawakening in intuitive health and bodily trust.
When it was time for me to birth my own children, I'm happy that I had the awareness of what was available to me so that we were able to have positive birth experiences. Read on for my birth stories.

Knowledge is power.
Awareness is key.
You are the captain.
As you can see, each one had a combination of both the medical and midwifery model of care. Looking back, I am so pleased that I was aware of how to tap into the benefits of both, and was able to create my vision for birthing each of my children, having ease in the process the entire time.
This, I believe, is the key to a safe and satisfying birth. Anxiety-free birth: To be aware of the tools that you have available to you and your family, and be able to navigate freely, without judgment, to create your ideal birth experience. Having this gift for myself, it continues to power me through parenthood. And I want this for you!
